  • On October 16th, 2017, the Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the West Zone Regional Training Centre of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
  • The purpose of the training centre is to strengthen and professionally empower the State Police Special Branches.
  • The West Zone will include states of Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
  • Intelligence Bureau is India’s internal intelligence agency, which was rebuilt in the year 1947 under the Ministry of Home Affairs as the Central Intelligence Bureau.
  • It is notable that IB places lot of emphasis on continuous upgradation of professional skills of IB employees through regular In-service training courses.
  • In the 21 month period between January, 2016 and September, 2017, a total of 12, 142 personnel were given training in intelligence and national security related subjects.
