On the invitation of Indonesia vice president Mr. Jusuf Kalla, Vice President Hamid Ansari was on official visit to Indonesia from 1-4 November 2015.
India and Indonesia have shared two millennia of close cultural and commercial contacts.
Since the adoption of India’s ‘Look East Policy’ in 1991, there has been a rapid development of bilateral relations in political, security, defence, commercial and cultural fields.

During his visit, Vice President Hamid Ansari met with the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo.
Vice president of India had bilateral talk with the vice president of Indonnesia Mr. Jusuf Kalla.
Two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) has been signed in the presence of both the leaders to strengthen ties in New and Renewable Energy sector and culture exchange area.
