- On December 26th, 2017, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the Uttar Pradesh person with disabilities regulation, 2017.
- In pursuance to the provision of which of the following Sections of the person with disability Act, 2016, the state government has drafted the Uttar Pradesh person with disabilities Regulation, 2017.
- Section 101 of this Act provides that the State Governments will be able to make rules / rules for implementing the arrangements made in the provisions of the period not exceeding 6 months from the enforcement date of the Act.
- It is known that for the overall welfare of the various categories of person with disabilities and to repeal the act of year 1995 the Government of India has promulgated “The Rightsof Persons with Disabilities Act – 2016“through the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
- This Act is applicable in whole country from April 19th, 2017.
- This Act has made various provisions regarding the welfare of person with disabilities protection of interest and their problems etc. and these provisions have been expected to be implemented effectively by the State Governments.
- The rules have been promulgated by the Government of India for implementation of the provisions of this Act, by notification issued on June 15th, 2017 by the Central Government under section-100 of the Act.
