  • On December 19th, 2017, the Indian government signed a funding agreement with the World Bank in New Delhi to get IDA loan of 125 million US dollars (equivalent) for the Skill Strengthening Project for Industrial Value Enhancement (Strive) Operations.
  • The agreement was signed by Joint Secretary Sameer Kumar Khare in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Hisham Abdo, World Bank’s Acting Country Director, in India.
  • The objective of this operation is to ensure better access to professional training in line with quality and market demand.
  • The results of this project include excellent performance of the Industrial Training Institutions, better efficiency of the State Governments for better training of industrial training institutes and apprenticeship training, excellent education and knowledge acquisition and better and elaborate (apprenticeship) training.
  • The closing date for this project is November 30th, 2022.
