  • India’s longest single lane steel cable suspension bridge of 300 metre was inaugurated in Arunachal Pradesh by the Chief Minister Pema Khandu. It was built at a cost of 4,843 crore and funded by Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
  • The bridge is built across Siang River at Yingkiong in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. It is named Byorung Bridge. This will reduce the distance between Yinkiong and Tuting near China border by almost 40 kms.
  • This will also boost the defence preparedness as well as expected to benefit around 20,000 people on either banks of river.
  • Chief Minister also laid foundation of District Secretariat Building. 268 projects worth Rs. 3,800 crore under the Pradham Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) have been sanctioned by Centre to the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
