- The Government is to launch the second phase of comprehensive nationwide immunisation drive, i.e. Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.0 on October 31, 2019, to mark the 25 years of Pulse polio programme.

- Four phases of Mission Indradhanush have been conducted till August 2017 and more than 2.53 crore children and 68 lakh pregnant women have been vaccinated.
Intensified Mission Indradhanush :
- To further intensify the immunization programme,Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Intensified Mission Indradhanush on October 08,2017 at Vadnagar in Gujarat.
- Through this programme, Government of India aimed to reach each and every child under two years of age and all those pregnant women who have been left uncovered under the routine immunisation programme.
- The special drive was to focus on improving immunization coverage in select districts and cities to ensure full immunization to more than 90% by December 2018.
- The achievement of full immunisation under Mission Indradhanush to at least 90% coverage was to be achieved by 2020 earlier.
