- India’s track and field legend PT Usha has been nominated for the International Association of Athletics Federation’s Veteran Pin for her outstanding service to the sport.
- Usha is one of the greatest sprinters of India and is often called the “queen of track and field.”
- She won five gold medals — 100m, 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay, besides a bronze in the 1985 Jakarta Asian Games.
