  • The 2nd India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue (IRSED) was held in New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairman, NITI Aayog and Mr. Timur Maksimov, Deputy Minister of the Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
  • Participants included government officials, business leaders and experts. Focus was on the following six core areas of co-operation:
  1. Development of Transport Infrastructure and Technologies
  2. Development of Agriculture and Agro-Processing sector
  3. Small and Medium Business support
  4. Digital Transformation and Frontier Technologies
  5. Cooperation in Trade, Banking, Finance, and Industry
  6. Tourism & Connectivity.
  • The Dialogue included parallel roundtables which discussed areas of cooperation and concrete roadmaps for future negotiations across outlined core areas.

About India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue:

  • It was established after a bilateral MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between India’s NITI Aayog and Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development of Russian Federation during 19th edition of Annual India-Russia Bilateral Summit which was held on 5th October 2018, in New Delhi.
  • 1st IRSED was held in St. Petersburg in Russia between 25th and 26th November, 2018. It was chaired by Russia’s Minister of Economic Development of Russian Federation Mr. Maxim Oreshkin and Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairman of NITI Aayog.
