- On 30th May, 2018 Jharkhand Cabinet approved to add certain provisions in the selection of beneficiaries of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Housing Scheme.
- In the past, beneficiaries were selected on the basis of Socio-Economic Caste based Census 2011.
- After the approval of the Cabinet, Under this scheme, homeless people aged above 30 years or the families with widow head (having monthly income less than Rs. 5,000), or living in a mud house with single room; verified by district, whose names are not mentioned in the Social Economic Census 2011, even then, it has been recommended to provide housing to their families.
- In addition to this, Families and single abandoned women, who were affected by floods, earthquakes, landslides, hailstorms, arson and outbreaks of elephants, who were unable to make their own accommodation, it was decided to provide accommodation to families or women also under this scheme.
- Approval of the beneficiaries will be done on the basis of the Deputy Commissioner.
- Up to 25 percentage of the target of each fiscal year under the Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Housing Scheme will be sanctioned to the concerned beneficiaries in case of natural calamity by the Jharkhand Government.
