- In order to promote Vedic Education in India, Government has appointed Yoga guru Baba Ramdev as the head of the first Vedic Education Board of India.
- A selection committee on 23rd February selected his Trust’s bid for setting up the proposed Bhartiya Siksha Board (BSB).
- Later, a five-member panel’s recommendation will be considered by the governing council of the Maharishi Sandipani Vedavidya Pratisthan (MSRVP), headed by Union Minister of Human Resources and Development, Prakash Javdekar.
- The MSRVP, a fully-funded autonomous body under the HRD ministry working on promotion of Ved- Vidya, has been entrusted with the responsibility of appointing a private sponsoring body for putting the BSB in place.
- This board will be the first government recognized board for promoting Vedic education in India.
