- On 6th December, 2018; Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah became the fastest bowler to take 200 Test wickets in his 33rd Test during the fourth day of third test match against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi. He broke the 82-year-old record of Australian Clarrie Grimmett’s achieved in 36 Tests.
- His 14 for 184 were the second best match figures in a Test for Pakistan, first being Imran Khan, who bagged 14 for 116 against Sri Lanka in Lahore in 1982.
- Yasir is also the fastest Pakistani to grab 50 wickets in nine Tests, reached 100 wickets in 17 Tests – second only after English player George Lohmann who took 16 matches to attain the feat.
