  • On November 21st, 2017; ‘World Fisheries Day’ was celebrated across the world.
  • It is notable that on November 21, 1997, the meeting of working fishermen and fisherwomen representing the world forum of fisheries and fishery workers in 18 countries was held in New Delhi.
  • On this occasion, the ‘World Fisheries Forum’ (W.F.F.) was founded while advocating a global mandate of sustainable fisheries experiments and policies.
  • This day is celebrated on 21 November every year in its memory.
