  • On 20 October 2015 Indian batting legend Virender Sehwag announced his retirement from all the formats of international cricket (Test, ODI and T20) and the Indian Premier League.
  • On the occasion of his 37th birthday, Virender Sehwag popularly known as ‘The Nawab of Najafgarh’ and ‘Zen Master of Modern Cricket’ made this announcement just before he signed up to play in the next year’s Masters Champions League 2020.
  • In Masters Champions League only cricketers who retired from all the formats of the game can play.
  • He had started his international cricket career in 1999 after he played his first One Day International (ODI) against Pakistanin Mohali.
