  • On December 5th, 2017, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the ‘Uttar Pradesh Electronics Manufacturing Policy, 2017’.
  • Under this policy, the decision was taken by the State Cabinet to declare the whole Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area as ‘Electronics Manufacturing Zone’ for establishment of units of prestigious electronics sector of the country and abroad.
  • Apart from this, a decision has also been taken to encourage financial incentives to set up Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) parks in the private sector.
  • As per the ‘Uttar Pradesh Electronics Manufacturing Policy’, other promotions, such as capital and interest subsidy, tax reimbursement, stamp duty exemption and exemption in the value of land are acceptable except incentives provided by the Government of India like other states.
  • Under this policy, electronics units will also be allowed 3.0+ 1.0 (purchable) floor area ratio and welfare facilities such as dormitories, canteen and dispensaries etc. for the workers.
  • According to the requirement of units of Electronic Sector to be set up in Electronic Manufacturing Zone in the state, provision of reimbursement of training fee for the training of higher skill in the country and abroad has been made to the native residents of Uttar Pradesh.
  • These training include Embed System design, VLSI Design, PCB Design and Manufacturing, Chip Manufacturing, T.F.T. Manufacturing, and so on.
  • The goal of this policy is to achieve E.S.D.M. To attract investment of Rs.20,000 crores in the area and to create employment for minimum 300,000 persons by 2022.
