  • On December 14th, 2017 Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat launched ‘Ujala Mitra’ scheme in Dehradun on Energy Conservation Day.
  • The objective of this scheme is to make women self-help groups in partnership for LED bulb distribution in the state.
  • E.S.L. has signed the MOU with the members of the women self-help groups from different districts of the state In order to cooperate with the women self-help groups working in rural and urban areas for the distribution of10 million L.E.D. bulbs Under the Ujala program.
  • Distribution of LED bulbs and energy efficient devices will be done by women self-help groups working in urban and rural areas in the state.
  • These groups will get, on the sale of LED bulbs Rs 10/bulb, for the sale of LED lights Rs.15/ light and on energy efficient fans, will get the rate of 56 rupees per fan.
  • This will enable women self-help groups to earn income from the sale of equipment.
  • In addition to giving margin money to these groups, women self-help groups who have completed their goals in time will also be rewarded as Ujala Mitra.
