  • On 9th January, 2018, according to the report published by the Chhattisgarh Public Relations Department, the Chhattisgarh government has entrusted the responsibility of social audit of Panchayats also to the women self-help groups in the state.
  • Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to do this.
  • In Chhattisgarh state, women get 50 percent reservation in three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions.
  • Women groups are also being trained to participate in social audit of Panchayats.
  • In the first phase, 14 thousand 435 women self-help groups have been trained for this work in the last three months at the state level.
  • This training program began in October 2nd, 2017, concluded on January 6th, 2018.
