  • In November 2017, the National Achievement Survey was organized by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
  • This survey was developed by NCERT.
  • This survey conducted by NCERT is not only India’s largest ‘national achievement survey’ but it is also one of the world’s largest assessment surveys.
  • This survey was organized for class 3, 5 and 8 in government and government-aided schools.
  • Under the survey, levels of learning of more than 25 lakh students were evaluated in 700 districts of all the 36 States / Union Territories of the country.
  • A monitoring team was formed for the fairness of this survey.
  • This monitoring team included the inter-ministerial departments of State Governments, the National and State Supervisors of Education Departments and Supervisors of Multi-lateral Organizations.
  • The implementation of the survey conducted in all the districts was monitored on the day of assessment by the monitoring team.
  • The District Education Report Card will be prepared through this survey.
  • The known findings from this survey will prove to be helpful in understanding the efficiency of the education system.
  • The results of this survey will provide guidance in the planning and implementation of national, state, district and classroom levels of education policy in order to improve the level of learning of children and to make qualitative improvements in them.
