  • This was First ever Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) Conference in India and South Asia.
  • The conference theme is “Building Trust in the Digital Economy”.
  • Conference was organized by The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) under the aegis of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
  • This will be inaugurated by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Electronics & Information Technology.
  • It is expected to be attended by 21 economies and over 300 cyber security professionals from the Asia Pacific region, USA, Europe, Industry, Academia, Government and Media.
  • Last year this conference was organized from 24-27 October 2016 in Tokyo, Japan.
  • The organisation was established in February 2003 with the objective of encouraging and supporting the activities of CERTs/CSIRTs in the region.
  • Currently, APCERT consists of 30 Operational Members from 21 economies and 3 supporting Members.
  • It is noteworthy that The Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) is a coalition of Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) within the Asia Pacific region.
