  • In the meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet concluded on May 29, 2018, the decision to launch Prime Minister’s National Health Security Mission (‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme) with the objective of providing health security to the families of deprived, backward and economically weaker sections of the society is taken.
  • The benefits of the scheme are proposed to families marked in the socio-economic and caste census, 2011, under the scheme.
  • Under this scheme, the state government will provide free medical facilities to about 1.18 crore households (about 6 lakh people).
