  • On August 6, 2018, answering a question asked by Dr. Prabhakar Kore in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre said that Army has proposed conversion of cantonments into ‘Exclusive Military Stations’.
  • Notably, there are 62 Cantonments, governed by the Cantonments Act, 2006, located in 19 States across the country in a total area of 57 lakh acres.
