  • On 21st November, 2017, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched Pattabhi Sitaramaiya Self-Business Group Scheme (PS-SBG).
  • This is a loan scheme (PS-SBG) for state’s rural women, willing to start their own businesses.
  • Under this scheme a loan upto Rs. 25 lakhs will be sanctioned to the individual or group on working capital basis by Andhra Bank.
  • This scheme will be available in 7 districts of Andhra Pradesh and 2 districts of Telangana.
  • The scheme was launched in commemoration of 138th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhogaraju Pattabhi Sitaramayya and the silver jubilee celebrations of SHG bank linkage programme in the country.
  • It is noteworthy that Andhra Pradesh is the only state government that offers Rs. 10,000 to every woman in the DWCRA and SHG groups.
