  • On October 10, 2017, in the important meeting of the Narmada Control Board, chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan administrative approval was given for the construction of various projects of cost of Rs. 14,600 crore (estimated) in the Narmada Valley.
  • These approved projects include the proposed ambitious Narmada Kali Sindh Link Project for Malvanchal.
  • It is known that some time before, Chief Minister had announced the construction of this project for the Malvanchal.
  • This project will be built in two phases.
  • This project will irrigate 2 lakh hectares of agricultural land of 366 villages of Dewas, Shajapur, Sehore and Rajgarh districts.
  • Irrigation in 30 thousand hectares land will take place by another project Narmada Shipra Link Multi-purpose Project approved for Malvanchal in Dewas, Ujjain, Nagda, Maxi, Shajapur, Badia and Tarana areas.
  • Apart from this, the Narmada Control Board also approved the Morand and Ganjal Joint Irrigation Project. This will irrigate 52 thousand 205 hectares of land in Hoshangabad, Harda and Khandwa districts.
  • Micro Irrigation Projects of Nalwadi Udhvahan, Kollod Udhahan, Pati Udhvahan, Kodwar Udhahan, Pipri Udhvahan, Bhuralay Udhvahan, Pamkhedi Udhvahan.has also been approved by Narmada Control Board
