  • India ranked 28th in the list of 30 countries.
  • India’s overall index value has increased from 43.4 in 2016 to 44.9 in 2017.
  • Denmark is ranked sixth for the sixth consecutive year in this list.
  • This year Index expanded to include Colombia, New Zealand and Norway.
  • The top five countries in the list are Denmark at first, Netherlands at second, Australia at third and Norway and Finland at fifth and sixth places respectively.
  • Countries from the lower order in the list are Argentina (30th), Japan (29th), Mexico (27th), China (26th), and Korea (25th).
  • List is published by the Australian Center for Financial Studies (ACFS) in collaboration with the State Government of Victoria and Mercer.
  • The primary objective of the Index is to benchmark each country’s retirement income system so we can learn to understand what best practice may look like, both now and into the future.
  • List compares the retirement income system of different countries on the basis of adequacy, integrity and sustainability of retired people.
