  • On April 19th-20th, 2018, second G20 Meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors with the objective of advancing on public policymaking, global economic leaders convened in Washington.
  • The first meeting was held in Buenos Aires on 19th-20th March 2018.
  • In this meeting, the Ministry of Finance of the Government of India is represented by Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs Subhash Chandra Garg.
  • Taking place at the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the meeting’s 55 delegation leaders include 22 finance ministers, 18 central bank governors and eight international organization leaders.
  • The two-day agenda, which begins tonight with a working dinner and continues with morning sessions tomorrow, will focus on the future work and the global situation, including the potential risks and hidden financial vulnerabilities of the global economy.
  • Apart from this, and on April 19th, 2018, during the spring meeting of the IMF and World Bank, the first meetings of the Finance Ministers of the BRICS countries and the governors of the central bank were held separately.
  • During this time BRICS Bond Fund related issues were discussed along with the BRICS Casual Reserve System (CRA).
  • It is noteworthy that the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank’s Spring Meetings is organized between Washington, DC, 16th-22nd April, 2018.
