- presently Additional Secretary has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of lndia to Canada.
- He will replace Arun Kumar Sahu who is currently working as acting Indian High Commissioner to Canada.
- Mr. Swarup is expected to join his new post in Ottawa by mid-March.
- He is an India Foreign Services Officer of 1986 batch.
- Mr. Swarup is a well-known author. He became the MEA spokesperson in April 2015.
