  • In a meeting of Cabinet held on June 29th, 2018, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan it has been decided to double the contribution and insurance value by revising the Employees Insurance-cum-Savings Scheme, 2003, with 60% share being fixed as contribution in the savings fund and 40% share in insurance premium.
  • This arrangement will be effective from July 1, 2018, as Employee Insurance-cum-Savings Scheme, 2018.
  • This will benefit about 4.50 lakh employees of the state.
  • The Cabinet has decided to include nearly 50 lakh additional families of 5 cadres in State Illness Assistance Scheme.
  • The five cadres include architects and handicraft artisans, pensioners of Social Security Scheme, patta holders with forest rights, Bidi labourers and unorganized labourer cadre of Mukhya Mantri Jan-Kalyan Yojana.
  • After the inclusion of these cadres, now nearly 1 crore 50 lakh families will be eligible for an amount of maximum Rs 2 lakhs for the treatment of marked diseases under State Illness Assistance Fund Scheme.
