- DigiYatra is a biometric based digital processing of passengers aims to bring together entire industry to develop a digital ecosystem that will deliver Indian customers a seamless, consistent and paperless service experience at every touch point of their journey.
- DigiYatra central platform will be operational by February-end, 2019 and the technology would be first used in Bangalore and Hyderabad International airports on a pilot basis. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) will roll out the programme initially at Kolkata, Varanasi, Pune and Vijayawada by April, 2019.
- Under the DigiYatra, passenger can get a Digi Yatra ID by sharing minimum details like name, e-mail ID, mobile number and details of one approved identity proof including facial recognition biometric.
