- On August 8, 2017, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers Mansukh L. Mandaviya informed the Lok Sabha that a committee of joint secretaries has been set up for ensuring enhanced affordability, availability and accessibility of drugs for the citizens.
- The committee is designed to suggest ways to make pricing policy in favour of poor patients.
