- Between 9-14 October, 2017, ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ (BBBP) week is being celebrated throughout the country.
This week is being organized as the symbol of International Girl’s Day on October 11, 2017.
The theme of the program will be Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Week- The Daughters of New India.. - It is notable that the Central Women and Child Development Ministry is celebrating this week to popularize national and mainstream communication and BBBP among the people in favor of girls and women.
- It is notable that, the BBBP scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2015 in Panipat, Haryana.
- Its aim is to focus on the issue of decreasing childhood ratio (CSR) and limited rights of women during the life cycle.
- This scheme is being implemented in 161 districts of the country and has completed 2.5 years.
