Related facts-
- On 31 July, Common Service Center and National Health Accounts signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme through three-lakh CSCs (common service center) across the country.
- According to MoU:-
(1)- A beneficiary can now visit the nearby CSC to get the benefit of this scheme and help the beneficiary to identify his/her name in the ministry of health and family welfare database and his entitlement for the scheme.
(2)- CSC will help the beneficiary to scan /upload his KYC documents for verification of his/her identity and claims his/her entitlement.
(3)- CSC will also have facility to print his/her Ayushman Scheme Card through the center which will be his/her base source claim.
(4)- CSC will provide requisite information about the scheme and promote the same.
About Ayushman Bharat Scheme-
- Ayushman Bharat is a ‘national health protection scheme’ launched on 14 April 2018,which is supposed to cover over 10 crore vulnerable families by providing insurance coverage up to 5 lakh rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
- It subsumed following ongoing centrally sponsored schemes:-
(a) Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY).
(b) Senior Citizen Health Insurance Scheme (SCHIS).
Common service center-
- CSCs are for delivering government’s e-services to rural areas and remote locations where availability of computers and internet is negligible.
- Objectives of CSCs are-
(1) – Access to information for all remote and rural citizens.
(2) – Access to quality education/skill upgradation.
(3) – Access to cost efficient and quality health services.
(4) – To promote rural entrepreneurship; enable community participation and collective action for social improvement.
National Health Accounts is an important tool to monitor government priorities and allocations in Healthcare sector, it also assess whether these priorities are being fulfilled or not.
