  • On December 12th, 2017 in the meeting of the Rajasthan Cabinet, it was decided to amend the Rajasthan’s ‘MISA and DIRPrisoners Pension Rules 2008‘.
  • After this amendment this act will be known as Rajasthan Democracy Keeper Reservation Fund Rules, 2008.
  • Under this, the natives detained in the state Jail for the political and social reasons during the Emergency will be known as the Misa Detainers Democracy Keeper Fighters.
  • Now the native residents of Rajasthan, who are detained in prisons outside the state during the Emergency, will also be given pension and allowances under the rules.
  • Earlier, only Misa detainers residing originally in the State were entitled to pension and allowances.
  • Provision has also been made after amendment that in case of non-availability of records in the jail and police stations, the application for pension of Misa detainers can be made of the basis of affidavit and certificate of two affiliates certified by present or former legislator or MP of the concerned district.
  • Earlier, only those prisoners or detainers were entitled to get pension who was adult.
