  • The 7th Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable (AMER7) is being organized at Bangkok, Thailand from 1-3 November 2017.
  • The theme of this Three-day conference is ‘Global Energy Markets in Transition: From Vision to Action’.
  • Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan attended the meeting as Indian representative.
  • It is noteworthy that India will host the next (8th) IEF Ministerial Meeting in New Delhi on April 10-12, 2018.
  • The last edition (6th) of Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable was held at Doha in 2015.
  • In previous AMER events, IEF Ministershave recognized their interdependence and placed an emphasis on the need for trust and dialogue in building and sustaining partnerships.
  • The 7th IEF Ministerial Meeting will build upon these outcomes to strengthen established partnerships and forge new bonds accordingly.
  • About International Energy Forum:
  • IEF was established in July 1991.
  • IEFhas evolved into one of the most inclusive platforms for dialogue in which consumers and producers meet on a regular basis to discuss issues of common interest pertaining to the global energy scene.
  • Its membership accounts for 90% of global supply in oil and gas.
  • The 72 members are spread over six continents. IEF therefore, provides the best global platform, to both producers and consumers, to deliberate on global energy issues.
  • This is the only organization where there are no entry barriers for any country to join.
