  • The Golden Peacock Award for Best Film of this Festival was awarded to the film directed by Moroccan-born film director Sebile Campello, ‘120 Bits per Minutes’.
  • This film is made on the backdrop of the homosexuality and AIDS epidemic spread in France in the 1990s. Its world premiere was held at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
  • China’s director Vivian Qu won the best director award for her film ‘Angels wear White’.
  • Best Actor Male Award was awarded to Nahuel Perez Biscayart for his film ‘120 Bits ‘Per Minute.
  • Parvathy Thiruvoth Kottuvatta was given the Best Actress Award for her Malayalam film ‘Take-Off’.
  • Famous actor Amitabh Bachchan was awarded the Best Indian Film Personality of the Year for his contribution to Indian cinema.
  • In the 48th IFFI, Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • Marathi film ‘Kshitij- A Horizon’ was awarded the ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal.
  • In this festival world’s first 3D film in the Sanskrit language, ‘Anurakti’ was performed.
